Step 1 - Purchase Parts

You will need the following parts and supplies to perform this repair.

Fuel Injector

You can save money and buy cheaper fuel injectors, but trust us. You be will hating your decision in 10,000 miles! Only Genuine BMW fuel injectors deliver superior performance and give your vehicle that factory fresh engine responsiveness.

The N52 six-cylinder engine was found in many different BMW vehicles. The following instructions may differ slightly depending on year and model.

1. Removing fuel injectors.

- Remove the acoustical cover from the top of the engine.

- Please note that this step is only applicable to certain years.

- Unplug electrical connections (1) on top of fuel rail and clear out of work area.

Locate and remove the Schrader valve cap from the fuel rail

- Locate the Schrader valve cap on the side of the fuel rail and remove it.

connect compressed air to the Schrader valve and blow fuel back into the tank (43 psi max)

- Using compressed air, blow the fuel in the fuel rail and lines back into the tank. DO NOT exceed 43 psi!

- using a fuel line disconnection tool (please see our parts list to order), detach the fuel line (1).

- Using a metal pick, disconnect the metal clips securing the plastic wiring harness (2) to the top of the injectors. Pul the wiring harness free.

- Remove the four M6 hex bolts securing the fuel rail to the engine head and pull it free from the engine.

- remove the metal retaining clips (1) from each injector. Grasp the injector and pull it free from the fuel rail.

- Install new injectors into the fuel rail. make sure the metal retaing clips are secure.

- Torque the fuel rail mounting bolts to 9 Nm (6.6 ft-lb).
