The engine identification number in your BMW should be stamped or on a label attached to the vehicle's crankcase.
The location of the crankcase identification stamp or label differs among engine models.

- S63T0 from engine number 2001 0053 are on left side of cylinders 5-8.
- E72 vehicles on left side of cylinders 5-8.
