Daytime Driving Bulb 63117359245
The daytime driving bulb is critical in letting other drivers know where you are during daylight hours. They should be replaced immediately as soon as the bulb burns out. This bulb is hard to find...we suggest only using a Genuine BMW replacement.

Xenon Light Bulb D1S
If you have ever tried to replace your xenon high/low beam bulbs before you are probably aware of one thing: they are darn expensive. These affordable D1 xenon bulbs are an excellent substitute for the overpriced factory versions...and perform just as well!
H7 Halogen Bulb
Commonly used as a low and high beam bulb in halogen headlights. This is the same factory H7 halogen headlight bulb that would be installed at the BMW dealership.
Turn Signal Bulb (Amber) 63217160791
Make sure you order the correct turn signal bulbs - they must be amber colored since the headlight assembly is clear. Not putting an amber colored headlight bulb in is not only dangerous, but illegal!
H8 Halogen Bulb
Usually used in fog lamps in most BMWs. These are the same factory bulbs that would be installed at the BMW dealership.
Step 2 - Repair Procedure
This vehicle was manufactured with two different headlights.
If you are replacing any of the following bulbs, you will need to loosen the housing trim inside the front wheel housing before continuing:
- Xenon high/low beam bulb
- Halogen high/low beam bulb
- Turn signal bulb
- Fog lamp bulb
- Remove the three hex screws (1) securing the left and right wheel housing trim (2) to the bumper cover.
- Turn the protective cap (1) counterclockwise and remove from the top of the headlight assembly.
- Pull the bulb socket (1) out of headlight in direction of arrow.
- Remove daytime driving bulb 63117359245 from socket and replace.
- Turn the protective cap (1) counterclockwise and remove from the top of the headlight assembly.
- Turn the bulb socket (1) counterclockwise and remove from headlight assembly.
- Turn the side light bulb 63217160795 (1) counterclockwise and remove from the socket.
- Unlock and remove access cover inside front wheel housing.
- Turn protective cap (1) counterclockwise and remove.
- Unplug the D1 xenon bulb 63217217509 (2). Turn the bulb counterclockwise and remove from the headlight assembly.
- Unlock and remove access cover inside front wheel housing.
- Turn protective cap (1) counterclockwise and remove.
- Remove bulb socket (1) from rear of headlight assembly.
- Remove H7 bulb 63217160780 from socket.
- Turn protective cap (1) counterclockwise and remove.
- Pull bulb socket (1) out of headlight in direction of arrow.
- Remove H7 bulb 63217160780 from socket.
- Unlock and remove access cover inside front wheel housing.
- Turn the bulb socket (1) counterclockwise and remove from the headlight assembly.
- Pull turn signal bulb 63217160791 out of socket by depressing and turning counterclockwise (see arrow).
- Unplug the fog light bulb, then turn counterclockwise to remove it from the fog light housing.
- Replace H8 bulb.
