Jack and Lifting Locations – 2012-2019 BMW 3 Series Sedans (F30)

Step 1 - Purchase Parts

You will need the following parts and supplies to perform this repair.

Floor Jack - Low Profile

If you are raising up any BMW that is not an SUV, then you need a low-profile floor jack. A regular floor jack is too high to reach the front and rear lift points on BMW sedans, coupes and wagons. 1. Raising the vehicle with a floor jack

- Always use a low profile jack when raising a 2012-2019 3 Series sedan. You cannot reach the front and rear jack locations with a standard thickness floor jack.

- All 2012-2019 3 Series sedans must be lifted at the following designated lift points:

- When raising the front of the vehicle, position the jack under the pad at location (1).

- When lifting the sides of the vehicle, position the jack under one of the four pads at location (2).

- When lifting the rear of the vehicle, make sure the jack is positioned underneath the rear differential (3) NOT under its cover (see image).

- Always make sure the floor jack is properly centered under the rubber plates to avoid damaging any of the vehicles plastic trim.
