Our Review
The 2022 BMW X4 is a stylish and well-performing SUV with a luxurious interior and impressive infotainment features. Although it falls behind its X3 sibling in legroom and cargo space, the 2022 X4 more than makes up for its sleek design and outstanding performance. The M40i model is the clear choice for those who want the best performance possible from their X4. However, if you're looking for a more fuel-efficient model, the xDrive30i is the way to go.
The X4 M40i is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive30i is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Both models are paired with a silky smooth shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. The M40i can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, while the more laid back (and fuel-efficient) 30i takes 6.3 seconds. Both models come with all-wheel-drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The X4 comes standard with adaptive suspension dampers that improve comfort and handling. There are also four selectable driving modes: Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport, and Sport+. Sport+ is the most aggressive setting and stiffens the suspension for better handling.
The interior of the 2022 BMW X4 is very well designed and has a luxurious feel to it. The materials are high quality, and the overall look is modern and stylish. When it comes to its confined legroom and cargo space, the X4 will force you to make a hard decision - do its aggressive design and beautiful interior outweigh its interior tight quarters? That depends on the individual buyer and really cannot be answered in a review article.
The BMW X4 comes with a host of standard and optional infotainment features. The standard setup includes a 12.3-inch display screen, eight-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and a navigation system. The optional infotainment features include a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless smartphone charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The navigation system is quick and easy to use. It comes with real-time traffic updates and 3D maps. The optional 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system delivers outstanding sound quality. Gesture control is a new feature for 2022 and allows you to control certain infotainment functions by making specific hand gestures.
Vehicle safety and driver-assistance technology have come a long way in recent years, and the 2022 BMW X4 is at the forefront of this movement. The SUV comes standard with several impressive features, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. These systems work together to help you avoid accidents and make driving less stressful.
The BMW X4 comes with a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and a 4-year/unlimited-mile powertrain warranty. There's also a 4-year/unlimited-mile corrosion perforation warranty. All warranties are transferable to subsequent owners at no cost. Maintenance is free for the first 3 years/36,000 miles.
